The Swim Miami Challenge Is Back! Register Now – And Don’t Forget To Enter Your Dog, Too!

Are you ready to take the plunge in one of the finest swim settings out there? Swim Miami is back at the Miami Marine Stadium.

Set in an amazing pristine, generally calm water environment that will definitely allow for all ages and abilities to enjoy the fast-growing sport of Open Water Swimming. Challenge yourself to one of four amazing races: 800M, The Miami Mile, The 5K swim, or the 10K swim.

If that’s not enough, bring your dogs along for the world famous K-9 Krawl World Championships, a human/dog duathlon where owner and dog swim 200 yards and run 400 yards. This is the premiere fan friendly open water event that you wouldn’t want to miss in the USA!


  • 1 lap for the Mile
  • 3 laps for the 5K
  • 6 laps for the 10K

  • All participants must do mandatory check in on Saturday, April 25.
  • Changes will be allowed up until a week prior to the event. Any changes made after that will require a $15 fee.

  • 10:08 AM – 5K 40 and older (Male)
  • 10:10 AM – 5K 40 and older (Female)
  • 10:15 AM – Miami Mile 18 and under (Male)
  • 10:17 AM – Miami Mile 18 and under (Female)
  • 10:19 AM – Miami Mile 19-39 years old (Male)

  • Awards will be going on simultaneously as events finish.
  • Every swimmer walks away with a limited edition finisher medal. This are truly special and a great memento for the year you’ve had in open water swimming. Overall Top 3 Male and Female awarded.


  • The 10K Swim: 4 hours
  • The 5K Swim: 2 hours
  • The Miami Mile: 1 hour
  • The 800M Swim: 30 minutes


  • Sanctioned By: World Open Water Swim Association – WOWSA
  • Member of the WOWSA World 1 Mile Series.
  • Wetsuits: Wetsuits are allowed but only if you marked it on your registration.
  • Water Temperature: 81-82 degrees (F)
  • Safety: Current World Open Water Swimming Association (WOWSA) rules will govern this meet. Safety rules as outlined by WOWSA and as recommended by the referee, will be in effect.
  • Water Entry: This event will employ an in-water start and beach finish. All entries will be feet first and controlled by the safety officer. There are no racing dives permitted.
  • Hydration Station: There will be a hydration station available with electrolytes and water. You may bring your own hydration but you will need to have a man on the dock to hand to you.
