The Morning Swim Show, Sept. 7, 2012: Gary Hall Sr. Relishing New Role As Coach

LAS VEGAS, Nevada, September 7. ON today's edition of The Morning Swim Show, from the American Swimming Coaches Association's World Clinic. Gary Hall Sr. talks about his new role as swim coach, and looks back on his storied Olympic swimming career.

Hall has only been a full-time coach at The Race Club in Florida for about five years, and talks about the things he has learned and is implementing there. He also discusses the philosophies his former coach, “Doc” Counsilman used to great success at Indiana University and how it applies to his swimmers today. On the 40th anniversary of participating in the 1972 Olympics, Hall reflects on being a part of Mark Spitz's historic run of seven gold medals, and also analyzes his role in the 1976 Games. His success in the pool was passed on to his oldest son, Gary Jr., who became an Olympic legend in his own right. Be sure to visit SwimmingWorld.TV for more video interviews.
