The Morning Swim Show, Nov. 26, 2010: St. Cloud State Students Keep Swim Teams Alive

PHOENIX, Arizona, November 25. LAST week, the student body at St. Cloud State showed their support for the athletics programs by approving a tuition increase, and the coach of the swim teams talks today on The Morning Swim Show about how the vote saved swimming from extinction there.

Jeff Hegle says without the vote, men's swimming would have definitely been cut, and women's swimming might not have lasted much longer. Now, the teams will be around for a long time, and Hegle suggests other schools use this tactic to help fund programs in danger of being cut.
