The Morning Swim Show, Nov. 23, 2010: Jim Ellis on Getting Philadelphia’s Inner-City Youth Into Swimming

PHOENIX, Arizona, November 23. JIM Ellis started coaching 30 years ago, when quality pools were scarce in Philadelphia, but on today's edition of The Morning Swim Show he celebrates the opening of a state-of-the-art pool in the heart of Philadelphia that could attract inner-city youth to the sport.

Ellis talks about his history as a coach, leading swimmers to the nationals as part of the Philadelphia Department of Recreation swim team. He now oversees operations at a new pool in Philadelphia funded by a generous grant from the founders of McDonald's.
