The Morning Swim Show: Michael Phelps Paid $100,000 to Attend Party; Neil Walker and Ian Crocker Talk About Starting Swim School and Swimming Careers

PHOENIX, Arizona, October 29. OLYMPIC gold medalists Neil Walker and Ian Crocker join The Morning Swim Show to talk about their new business venture: creating a swim school in Austin, Texas.

Walker and Crocker attended the recent United States Swim Schools Association conference to gather information on starting a swim school in Austin. Crocker said he always wanted to remain in swimming to "build something from the ground up form infants all the way to Masters swimmers."

Crocker and Walker said they don't feel they want to completely leave competitive swimming, but love the sport so much they want to spread their knowledge to others through a swim school.

Both talk about the high points of their swimming careers, and why it's only natural for a swimmer with longevity at the elite level is bound to have some disappointments despite the big moments. Taking breaks is important for swimmers to get emotionally refreshed and find that "edge" in swimming, they say.
