The Morning Swim Show, June 17, 2010: Jon Urbanchek on the Ups and Downs of Coaching Swimmers

PHOENIX, Arizona, June 17. JON Urbanchek has guided many swimmers in a coaching career spanning about 40 years, and in today's edition of The Morning Swim Show, he talks about many of the techniques and philosophies behind getting some of the greatest swimmers in history to Olympic stardom.

One of the most fascinating parts of the interview is Urbanchek's comparison of Olympic champion Tom Dolan and NCAA champion Tyler Clary. Urbanchek calls both of them very competitive racers with natural talents that accent their work ethics. Urbanchek also discusses his thoughts behind giving full access to his training styles and workouts, and how he grades his swimmers at in-season meets.
