The Morning Swim Show: Cyndi Gallagher Talks About Recruiting at UCLA, Why Men’s Team Could Help Her Women’s Squad

PHOENIX, Arizona, December 3. THE recruiting challenges facing UCLA's women's swim team – as well as a possible reinstatement of the men's team – is the focus of Wednesday's edition of The Morning Swim Show.

Head Coach Cyndi Gallagher talks with host Peter Busch about the reasons why her team wasn't able to crack the top 30 at last spring's NCAA championships, and the work she's doing to see that a larger team is sent to the meet to compete in relays. Without a men's program at UCLA, Gallagher said it's been tough recruiting, but adds that the future addition of a new pool might bring more women to her team, and could foster an argument that the men's team has room to return to campus.
