The Morning Swim Show, April 15, 2010: Mike Gobrecht Offers Tips to Get USA More Involved in Open Water Swimming

PHOENIX, Arizona, April 15. WEST Shore YMCA coach Mike Gobrecht joins today's edition of The Morning Swim Show to discuss ways to get more swimmers involved in open water swimming.

Gobrecht, recently named the head coach for the USA team headed to the open water world championships this summer, talks about the ways he entices his swimmers, from sprinters to distance swimmers, to do occasional open water swims. He also gives tips to coaches to get younger swimmers involved in open water swimming and help erase the myth that the sport is just for those interested in longer distances.
