The Man Behind Michael Phelps Featured On Cover Of January Swimming World Magazine

PHOENIX, Arizona, January 1. SWIMMING World rings in the new year, and enters its 50th year of publication in a standard magazine format with Michael Phelps' coach, Bob Bowman, on the cover. Bowman has been coaching the 14-time Olympic gold medalist every step of the way in his swimming career.

In January's exclusive interview, Bowman talks about more than a decade long odyssey that he and Phelps have shared on their way to the pinnacle of the sport.

How key has Bowman been in Phelps' life? According to Phelps, he would not be where he is today with any other coach. In the interview, Bowman talks about seeing Phelps' potential as an 11-year-old, and telling his parents that their son had the potential to be an Olympic champion.
