The Fastest Man in Texas to be Decided as Part of Charitable Event

SAN ANTONIO, Texas, December 5. SAN Antonio area athletes will have a unique chance to view eight of America's finest swimmers gathering for one cause; to support their friend as he honors his mother.

Olympian, Josh Davis, has organized this event to honor his mother, Joan Davis, who is battling stage IV lung cancer. Davis' desire is to recognize her and all the "gold-medal" moms who sacrifice their time and energy every day for their children. Last year, the proceeds of the event went towards the Joan Davis Cancer Fund and this year a donation will be given to another individual in need who is battling cancer.

Davis shares, "I've always been thankful for my mother and watching her gracefully fight this disease has spurred me on to do more. In 2012, I'm launching the Swim 4 Foundation with hopes to inspire others to swim for something greater than themselves."

This attitude attracted World-Record Holders, Aaron Peirsol, David Walters, Garrett-Weber Gale, Brendan Hansen, Ian Crocker and a few surprise guests to accept Davis' challenge to a 50 yard race. The winner of the event will earn the bragging rights as the The Fastest Man in Texas. This event will take place on Tuesday, December 6th at the Josh Davis Natatorium located at 12002 Jones Maltsberger

Road in San Antonio, TX. Online voting for your favorite swimmer is open at www.swim4foundation.org . Prior to the event the San Antonio Catholic Schools will compete for their second annual Battle for the Crown meet.
