Texas State Champ KK LeBlanc Selects Ohio State For 2025

NEW COMMIT: The Ohio State University has picked up its first verbal commitment for the 2025-26 season and beyond from Cadence “KK” LeBlanc of Friendswood, Texas.

She told Swimming World:

“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my swimming and academic career in the fall of 2025 at The Ohio State University!  Thanks to my parents, my club coach Gordy Westerberg, my high school coach Craig Sikkema, and my incredible family and friends for all the support during this process.  I can’t wait to join my future coaches and teammates! GO BUCKEYES!”

A versatile swimmer, LeBlanc trains year-round with Sharks Swim Club and most recently earned two best times at Junior Nationals this past summer after winning five events at the Gulf Senior Championships. She competed at Juniors West back in December before going on to take 12th in the 50 free at the NCSA Spring Championships.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 23.09
  • 100 free – 49.86
  • 200 free – 1:50.32
  • 100 back – 56.34
  • 200 back – 2:03.52
  • 100 fly – 57.14
  • 200 fly – 2:05.35
  • 100 breast – 1:06.31

Currently a junior at Friendswood High School, LeBlanc won the 100 free and took second in the 50 free at the 2023 UIL 5A State Championships. She raced to fourth and second, respectively, in those events during her freshman season.

The Buckeyes were the 2023 Big Ten champions and finished sixth at the NCAA Championships.
