Texas Senior Circuit, Austin: Amanda Kendall Doubles To End Meet

AUSTIN, Texas, July 10. THE Texas Senior Circuit meet held in Austin this weekend came to a close with Amanda Kendall completing a sprint double in long course meter competition.

Kendall first won the women's 100 free in 55.78. Caitlin Geary hit second in 56.24, while Kelsey Amundsen finished third in 56.85. Kendall doubled up with a 27.25 to win the women's 50 fly. Skylar Smith took second in 28.59 as part of a three-podium evening. The Woodlands' Kelsey Leneave earned third in 28.70.

FCST's Skylar Smith touched out Leah Gingrich, 2:20.23 to 2:20.29, for the women's 200 IM victory. Aggie's Erica Dittmer wasn't far behind with a third-place 2:20.32. Metro's Meredith Oliver also clocked a 2:20 with a fourth-place 2:20.44. Austin Surhoff overtook Hayes Johnson, 2:04.16 to 2:04.55, for the men's 200 IM title. YHF's Ty Stewart, 16, placed third in 2:06.88.

Longhorn swept the podium in the men's 100 free with Jimmy Feigen winning in 49.59, while Garrett Weber-Gale (49.66) and Dax Hill (50.09) placed second and third. The Woodlands' Tripp Cooper captured the men's 50 fly in 25.30. Longhorn's Andrew Wang finished second in 25.66, while Longhorn's Madison Gibson and The Woodlands' Knox Hitt tied for third with matching 25.95s.

CFSC's Catherine Wagner topped the women's 50 breast in 33.09, while Skylar Smith finished second with a 33.66. Longhorn's Bethany Adams placed third in 34.09. Longhorn's Christian Schurr snared the men's 50 breast in 29.03, while teammate Eric Friedland hit the wall second in 29.56. Keanan Stevenson finished third in 29.60.

Katie Riefenstahl won the women's 100 back in 1:03.32, while CFSC's Ellen Lobb took second in 1:03.81. Jess Guro completed the podium with a third-place 1:04.27. Patrick Murphy followed with a 55.74 to win the men's 100 back. Hayes Johnson (56.76) and CFSC's Cole Cragin (57.57) rounded out the top three.

FCST's Jordan Hancock, 16, won the women's 1500 free in 16:54.70, while Lauren Ross took second in 17:05.86. Alamo Area's Colleen Konetzke finished third in 17:28.79. Longhorn's Andrew Phillips posted a 15:59.67 to win the men's 1500 free. The Woodlands' Elliot Dewlen, 16, placed second in 16:07.30, while Nitro's Manny Mendoza touched third in 16:10.34.
