Texas Senior Circuit, Austin: Aaron Peirsol Scorches 200 Back

AUSTIN, Texas, July 10. THE third evening of long course meter action at the Texas Senior Circuit in Austin featured a blazing time by Aaron Peirsol in the men's 200 back.

Peirsol scorched the men's 200 back with a superior time of 1:57.66. That time leapfrogged him from seventh in the world rankings with a 1:58.11 to fourth in the world. Only Ryosuke Irie (1:55.11), James Goddard (1:57.06) and Chris Walker-Hebborn (1:57.39) have been faster. Tim Johnson finished a distant second in 2:02.80, while Aaron Greene earned third in 2:03.87.

Karlee Bispo topped the women's 200 free in 1:59.47, while Samantha Tucker took second in 2:01.46. Adrienne Woods clinched third in 2:03.93. Dave Walters followed in the men's 200 free with a winning 1:49.09. Ricky Berens claimed second in 1:50.91, while Dax Hill snared third in 1:51.29.

Spindrift Beck claimed the women's 100 breast title in 1:12.55. Catherine Wagner (1:13.03) and Merritt Karwczyk (1:31.21) completed the top three. Eric Shanteau then snatched the men's 100 breast in 1:03.88. Matt Lowe earned second in 1:04.91, while Eric Friedland claimed third in 1:05.85.

Jessica Guro cruised to victory in the women's 200 back with a 2:17.85. Woods snared her second podium of the night with a 2:20.62 for second place, while Lindsey King touched third in 2:21.90. Kathleen Hersey won the women's 100 fly in 1:00.17, while Laura Harrington took second in 1:00.44. Guro wound up third in 1:02.44 just minutes after winning the 200 back. Guro complete a busy night with her second victory, this time with a 29.74 in the women's 50 back. Jessica Schauwecker finished second in 30.66, while Maria Sommer took third in 30.84.

Boris Loncaric touched first in the men's 100 fly with a 55.17, while Berens placed second in 55.25. Neil Caskey snagged third in 55.31. Cooper Robinson claimed the men's 50 back in 28.00, while Tripp Cooper earned second in 28.09. Charlie Keller completed the podium with a third-place 29.06.

Sarah Peterson took home the women's 400 IM title in 4:57.29, while Natalie Sacco finished second in 4:59.42. Melanie Dodds completes the top three in 5:00.14. Austin Surhoff finished the night by winning the men's 400 IM in 4:27.84. Michael McBroom took second in 4:33.87, while Ty Stewart picked up third in 4:33.87.
