Texas Intrasquad Meet

AUSTIN, Texas, September 25. BEHIND three victories apiece from senior Ricky Berens and sophomore Jimmy Feigen, team Orange posted a 149.5-127.5 win in the annual Orange-White Classic Friday afternoon at UT's Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.

Berens led off the meet with a win in the 100-yard backstroke in 49.28 seconds before freshman Nick D'Innocenzo responded for team White with a victory in the 100 breaststroke in 56.15. Feigen chalked up his first victory of the day in the 100 butterfly in 48.92, and sophomore Jackson Wilcox tallied a win for the White team by taking the 1,000 freestyle in 9:37.40.

Berens handily claimed the 200 freestyle in 1:40.68 before Feigen tacked on his second win of the day in the 50 freestyle, where he finished in 20.20. Junior Bryan Collins added another win for team Orange by taking the 200 IM in 1:51.24, and sophomore Drew Livingston scored a one-meter diving win for the White team with 323.63 points.

Berens contributed his third victory in the 200 butterfly, where he finished in 1:50.63. Feigen scored his third win in the 100 freestyle in 45.01 before Collins added another win for the Orange, as he took the 200 backstroke in 1:48.51. Wilcox collected his second win of the day, as he edged the Orange team's Jim Robertson in the 500 freestyle in 4:38.87.

Junior Matt Cooper added a three-meter diving win for the Orange team with 321.30 points before the freshman D'Innocenzo chipped in his second win, as he claimed the 200 breaststroke in 2:03.55. Led off by Feigen and anchored by Berens, the Orange team finished off the meet with a 200 freestyle relay win in 1:21.21.

Texas opens the 2009-10 regular season on Oct. 23 when it meets Missouri, Texas A&M and SMU in Mansfield, Texas.
