Tennessee Men, Women Cruise to Home Invite Titles

The Tennessee men and women capped a strong weekend by sweeping their home invitational on Saturday.

 

The Tennessee men scored 1,248.5 points to easily win the meet. Denver was second (740), followed by Penn (713), Duke (592), North Carolina (423.5) and Carson-Newman (167).

The Tennessee women scored 1,075 to finish ahead of Duke (807), North Carolina (766), Denver (649), Penn (346), Marshall (167) and Carson-Newman (121).

The Volunteers won the closing 400 freestyle relay in 2:51.70 with Ryan Coetzee, Alec Connolly, Joey Reilman and Kyle DeCoursey participating.

DeCoursey won the 100 freestyle (42.30). Marc Hinawi won the 1,650 free (14:54.98). Matthew Dunphy won the 200 breaststroke (1:55.19) and Sam McHugh won the 200 butterfly (1:42.52).

Zhipeng Zeng won men’s platform diving for the Vols with 460.20 points.

Denver’s Anton Loncar won the 200 backstroke (1:40.87).

In the women’s meet, Tennessee’s Micah Bohon won the 200 back (1:53.33). Alexis Yager won the 200 breaststroke (2:10.33).

Bohon, Erika Brown, Meghan Small and Stanzi Moseley won the 400 freestyle relay in 3:13.68.

Rachel Rubadue won platform diving for the Vols with 280.15 points.

North Carolina’s Caroline Baldwin won the 100 free in 47.14. Robyn Dreyer won the 1,650 free in 16:16.25.

Duke’s Isa Paez won the 200 butterfly (1:56.73).
