Team USA Joins Top Synchronized Swimming Countries for 4th FINA World Trophy

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, November 24. THE top synchronized swimming countries in the world will flock to Montreal, Canada, November 27 – 29 for the 4th FINA World Trophy competition. The event is unique as it is judged solely on artistic merit. The elite international competition will be held at the Olympic Park Sports Centre and is hosted by the Canadian Synchronized Swimming Federation (Synchro Canada).

Alyson Haylor and Alexa Tchekmarev will represent the United States in the thematic duet competition while Lyssa Wallace will serve as the soloist. The other disciplines include the free combination, the thematic team and the team acrobatics event.

The schedule of the competition is as follows:
Friday, November 27 Team Acrobatics and Thematic Duet
Saturday, November 28 Free Solo and Thematic Team
Sunday, November 29 Free Combination Routine

Team USA competing at the 2009 FINA World Trophy consists of: Chelsea Aton (Noblesville, Ind.), Elizabeth Chinoransky (Springfield, Va.), Molly Knight (Walnut Creek, Calif.), Vanessa Calle (Concord, Calif.), Elizabeth Norton (Stillwater, Minn.), Samantha Davis (Boulder, Colo.) Kelsey Smith (Penfield, N.Y.), Alexandra Stensby (Yorba Linda, Calif.), Anna Nelson (Stillwater, Minn.), Lyssa Wallace (San Antonio, Texas) Alyson Haylor (Las Vegas, Nev.) and Alexa Tchekmarev (Troy, Mich.).

The Team USA Coaching Staff for the 2009 FINA World Trophy consists of: Kim Wurzel-Lo Porto, a member of the 2000 U.S. Olympic Synchronized Swimming Team; Kim Probst, a member of the 2008 U.S. Olympic Synchronized Swimming Team and Emily Van Vleck, a former U.S. National Team member
