Team USA Duet Finishes 11th At Japan Open

Team USA’s Anita Alvarez (Buffalo, N.Y.) and Ruby Remati  (Andover, Mass.) finished 11th in duet free Monday on the final day of the Japan Open.

The duo scored 82.3000 points in the final. Japan’s Yukiko Inui and Kanami Nakamaki won gold with 92.4333 points, followed on the podium by Italy’s Linda Cerruti and Costanza Ferro (90.5000), and Greece’s Evangelia Platanioti and Evangelia Papazoglou (89.3333). Alvarez and Remati had finished 10th in the duet tech final on Saturday.

Alvarez, Remati and the rest of the U.S. National Team will next compete at the FINA Artistic World Series event in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, May 30-June 2.
