TCU, St. Peter’s, Seton Hall vs. Rutgers

NEW BRUNSWICK, New Jersey, November 12. TCU's men's swimming and diving grabbed two wins against Seton Hall and St. Peter's College, while the women's squad knocked off Seton Hall on Saturday inside the Rutgers Aquatics Center.
The Horned Frog was a 191-156 winner over Seton Hall and grabbed a 192-130 decision at the hands of St. Peter's College. With the wins, TCU improved to 5-2 on the year. The women's team picked up a 295-58 triumph over Seton Hall, but fell to Rutgers. It is 6-2 this year.

"The men swam really well," TCU coach Richard Sybesma said. "I'm really happy with their effort. The women competed very hard as well, but Rutgers is a solid team."

TCU's men got off to a hot start once again with their win in the 200-medley relay. Laszlo Gyurko, Edgar Crespo, Luiz Azarias and Devin Price touched the wall in 1:33.24 just ahead of teammates Cooper Robinson, Matt Korman, Friedrich Grott and Ryan Wilcox.

Michael Franz and Mitchell Adshead continued TCU's hot start when Franz won the 400-individual medley in 4:04.05 and Adshead was second in 4:08.41. Robinson (1:51.59), Gyurko (1:52.23) and Nelson Head (1:54.07) went 1-2-3 in the 200-back.

From the air, TCU's men went 1-2-3 with Ricky Bradley picking up his second career win on the 3-meter springboard. He scored a 301.30, while Eric Steiger scored 288.40 for second place and Curtis Muller tallied 279.15 points for third place.

Gyurko added a win in the 100-fly with a time of 50.55. The Szekszard, Hungary, native is normally a freestyle and backstroke specialist but went outside of his normal stroke to add to his win total, which is second on the team.

On the women's side, the sprinters shined once again after Sabine Rasch added to her ever-growing win total with a 51.72 in the 100-free. The Luckenwalde, Germany, native finished just ahead of Parris Schoppa, who was second at 52.36.

Katie Lybbert impressed again for TCU with her 251.15 on the 1-meter springboard for her second win of the weekend. TCU tallied a 1-2-3 finish in the 200-breaststroke with Van-anh Hoang leading the way after touching the wall in 2:23.67.

The Frog women closed the day with first and second place showing in the 400-freestyle relay. Rasch, Katie Scarsella, Zrinka Korac and Schoppa finished first in 3:29.39. Kristi Dena, Lauren Kaufman, Mackenzie Schuler and Ashley Bolin were second in 3:39.50.

TCU returns to action Dec. 1-3 at the U.S. Long Course National Championships and the UT Invitational.
