T2’s Elizabeth Pelton Misses American Record by Slimmest of Margins; Katie Hoff Makes T2 Debut

PLANTATION, Florida, February 17. TONIGHT at the FGC Senior Championships being held in Plantation, Fla., T2's Elizabeth Pelton missed her American record in the women's 200-yard back by the slimmest of margins.

Pelton threw down an epic time of 1:49.17, missing her American record of 1:49.16 set in 2011 in Annapolis, Md.

Tonight's swim is the fourth-fastest of all time behind Gemma Spofforth's top two times of 1:48.34 and 1:49.11, as well as Pelton's American record from last year.
