Swiss Long Course Championships: Meet Comes to Close

GENEVA, Switzerland, April 3. THE final day of the Swiss Long Course Championships went into the books in Geneva.

David Karasek topped the men's 200 IM in 2:05.66, while Lukas Rauftlin touched second in 2:07.37. Simon Rabold wound up third in 2:07.91. Marina Ribi, who set the Swiss record in the women's 400 IM yesterday, took home the 200 IM title in 2:20.16. Mia Baric finished second in 2:23.22, while Anais De Marchi earned third in 2:23.79.

Dominik Meichtry turned in a 54.31 to win the men's 100 fly finale. Alexandre Liess placed second in 54.83, while Nico Van Duijn finished third in 55.27. Maria Ugolkova followed in the women's 100 fly with a 1:00.89 for the win. Martina van Berkel touched second in 1:01.67, while Laetitia Perez finished third in 1:03.08.

Erik Van Dooren raced to victory in the men's 50 free with a 23.32. Meichtry earned his second podium of the night with a second-place 23.34, while Daniel Rast finished third in 23.39. Laura Noccioli hit the wall in 26.49 for the women's 50 free title. Corinne Meier finished second in 26.82, while Stephanie Eisenring wound up third in 26.90.

Stefan Sigrist captured the men's 800 free title in 8:13.76, while Jovan Mitrovic finished second in 8:20.74. Joel Escher placed third in 8:34.12. Julia Hassler posted a 16:54.94 for the women's 1500 free win. Iris Matthey (17:05.52) and Rachel Wuthrich (17:41.79) rounded out the top three.

In relay action, Flori Lang, Maximilien Bon, Martin Schweizer and Meichtry won the men's 400 medley relay in 3:48.19, while Florence Sigg, van Berkel, Elina Piesbergen and Danielle Villars earned the victory in the women's 400 medley relay with a 4:22.68.
