Swimming World’s Jeff Commings Sets FINA Masters World Record in Sanctioned Time Trial

PHOENIX, Arizona, December 20. IN a sanctioned time trial that took place at the Phoenix Swim Club today, Swimming World associate producer Jeff Commings grabbed his second FINA Masters world record in just two weeks.

Commings ripped off a sterling time of 1:01.47 in the men's 35-39 100 breast over short course meters for the record. He lowered the record of 1:01.62 set by Steve West at the SPMA meet in Long Beach, Calif., two weeks ago. West's performance eclipsed the previous record of 1:02.57 set by Ron Karnaugh back in 2002.

Notably, Commings set his first world record of the season at the same meet in Long Beach with a scorching time of 27.79 in the men's 50 breast.
