Swimming World Competition Roundup

PHOENIX, Arizona, January 9. DURING the past couple of weeks, several meet managers took full advantage of uploading recent results to the Swimming World meet results section of the website.

AGE GROUP
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Crawley Swimming Club held its Club Championships over several weekends from Nov. 22 to Dec. 13. The meet was held at the K2 Pool in Sussex, England.

MANCHESTER SNOW’PEN
The City of Manchester Aquatics Swim Team held its Manchester Snow’pen December 20-22 at the Manchester Aquatic Centre in Great Britain. The team earned a total of 105 medals, followed by the Warrington Warriors (53), Preston Swimming Club (46), City of Liverpool Swimming Club (44) and the Canet 66 Swim Club (41).

9th ANNUAL HOLIDAY SPRINT
The Whitney Point Swim Club held their ninth annual Holiday Sprints December 28 at the Whitney Point High School.

CANTERBURY CHRISTMAS GALA
The Kingsmead Leisure Centre in Canterbury, Kent, Great Britain hosted the Canterbury Christmas Gala December 29.

HIGH SCHOOL
MAROON AND GOLD INVITATIONAL
Fifty-seven high school boys teams from throughout the state of Minnesota gathered at the University of Minnesota to compete in the prestigious Maroon and Gold Invitational January 4. Swimmers competed in four divisions.

COLLEGE
NORTH CAROLINA STATE – GEORGIA
Georgia coach Jack Bauerle claimed his 500th and 501st career victories Jan. 4 in a dual meet against North Carolina State. The fourth-ranked Lady Bulldogs improved to a 7-0 record with a 186-113 victory; the No. 10 men’s squad moved to 6-1 with their 156-142 win.

UTAH — ARIZONA STATE
The Arizona State Sun Devils traveled to Salt Lake City, Utah, to take on the Utah Utes Jan. 5. The Ute women prevailed by a score of 159-137, while the Utah men defeated Arizona State 191-105.

ARGENTINA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Argentina National Championships took place December 12-15 at the National Center of High Performance Athletics in Buenos Aires. The top five teams were:
