Swimming World Competition Roundup

PHOENIX, Arizona, Dec. 7. DURING the past week, the following meet managers took full advantage of uploading recent results to the Swimming World meet results section of the website.

AGE GROUP
SA UNLEY CARNIVAL
The Unley Amateur Swimming Club, based in Forestville Reserve, Ethel St Forestville, South Australia, hosted its annual Carnival Dec. 1.

Results: 2012-13 SA Unley Carnival – (12-01-2012 – 12-01-2012)

COLLEGE
GEORGIA FALL INVITATIONAL
The University of Georgia hosted its annual Fall Invitational Nov. 30-Dec. 2 at the Gabrielson Natatorium. The Lady Bulldogs triumphed, scoring 694 points to California’s 648, Virginia’s 391, Auburn’s 365 and Penn State’s 321. On the men’s side, California totaled 592 points for first, followed by Virginia (508), Georgia (454.5), Auburn (390.5) and Penn State (381.5).

BRIGHAM YOUNG VS. UTAH
In an exciting duel that came down to the final events, the Utah Utes defeated the Brigham Young Cougars, 156-144 on Dec. 1. The Utah women had an easier time, claiming victory over BYU 181-117. This marked the first time since 2005 that Utah swept BYU in both the men’s and women’s competitions.

BRANDEIS VS. WESLEYAN
The Brandeis Judges were soundly defeated on Dec. 1 by the Wesleyan Cardinals at Wesleyan’s home pool in Middletown, Conn. Wesleyan’s women came in first in 15 of 16 events to come out on top, 207-70. On the men’s side, Wesleyan grabbed 11 event victories on their way to a 171-75 victory.
