NEW COMMIT: Florida International University has received their first verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Jordan Browning of Waxhaw, N.C.

Browning does her club swimming with SwimMAC Carolina and recently had six top-10 finishes at the ATOM December Invitational last month. This past summer, she earned two best time at North Carolina LCM Seniors before going on to race three events at Greensboro Futures.

A current junior at Cutherbertson High School, Browning is already a four-time North Carolina 3A State Championship finalist. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American earned bronze medals in both the 100 back and 100 fly as a sophomore while placing eighth in both of those events during her freshman season.

She told Swimming World:

“I am SO excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Florida International University! It is a great fit for my academic and athletic goals, and I love the team, the coaches and the warmer weather. Thank you to my family, coaches, and friends for helping me get to where I am today! Go Panthers! #pawsup #ALLIN”

Her best times include:

  • 100 back – 55.87
  • 200 back – 2:04.67
  • 100 fly – 56.23
  • 200 IM – 2:07.10

Even with 1.5 years of club swimming still to go before suiting up for Florida International as a member of the class of 2025, Browning will make an immediate impact. She would’ve scored in the B-final of the 100 fly, 100 back, and 200 back at the 2019 Conference USA Championships where the Panthers earned the team title.
