HOUSTON, Texas, October 5. Hannah Herbst, the 21st-ranked recruit out of Arizona on Collegeswimming.com, has verbally committed to attend and swim for the University of Houston next year.

Herbst, who trains with Swim Neptune and attends Desert Mountain High School in Scottsdale, is a distance specialist and has posted times of 10:15.20 in the 1000 free, 17:20.52 in the 1650 free and 5:01.32 in the 500 free. She also excels in the IM events with a 2:08.65 in the 200 IM and 4:29.37 in the 400 IM, as well as the 200 back (2:06.96) and 200 breast (2:27.87).

Herbst’s 400 IM time would have made the B final at last season’s American Athletic Conference Championships, while her mile time would’ve placed 16th.
