Swim Neptune Swimmers to Participate in Going The Extra Mile Challenge

Swim Neptune swimmers Keaton Jones and Devin Esser along with coaches Joe and John Zemaitis will all individually attempt to swim 25 miles of swimming in 24 hours. At the start of every hour, for 24 hours straight, one mile must be completed until they reach 25 miles.

The event will take place at the Moon Valley Country Club in Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday June 6.

This idea was inspired by first responders and born out of Keaton and Devin’s desire to do their part to give back to the community at this challenging time by doing what they know and love. All proceeds will aid some of Arizona’s most vulnerable community members – residents and staff of nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

Two Swim Neptune relay teams will also attempt this feat, one swimmer at a time. This will test their endurance, mental fortitude, and their ability to stand up tall in the face of physical and mental exhaustion. All swimmers and support staff will be adhering to CDC guidelines for social distancing. All of the swimmers want to promote swimming as the safe and healthy sport that it is.

You can donate today to the Neptune Swimming Foundation, where 100% of the funds raised will go towards the purchase of personal protective equipment (PPE) and support programs that promote the mission of the Neptune Swimming Foundation, including water safety and drowning prevention. These items will be purchased and delivered to the beneficiaries during the month of June 2020.
