This past weekend more than 300 swimmers participated in the 11th annual Swim Across America Greenwich-Stamford Swim, raising more $385,000 for the Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy (ACGT).

The swim is usually held in the open water in Long Island Sound, but was relocated indoors due to inclement weather to the Boys and Girls Club in Greenwich, Connecticut. Originally reported in an article on the Greenwich Patch website, that brings the total money raised for the ACGT over the past 11 years the swim has been held to over $3.4 million.

The ACGT is a non-profit cancer research organization that is located in Stamford, Connecticut. All proceeds to the organization go directly to cancer research grants that fund cancer cell, gene, and immunotherapy research projects. Donations to the organization are still being accepted on the Swim Across America Greenwich-Stamford Swim webpage.
