Swim Across America Donates 71 Percent of 2016 Revenue to Cancer Research
Swim Across America, a non-profit organization which holds swimming events nationwide to raise money for cancer research and for clinical trials. This past year, the organization donated $4,571,922 to that cause, 71 percent of their total revenue for the year, according to CEO Rob Butcher.
This coming year, Swim Across America will hold 15 different open water races across the country to raise money for its cause. More than 100 Olympic swimmers, including 2016 Olympians Nathan Adrian, Conor Dwyer, Ryan Lochte, Michael Phelps, Allison Schmitt and Amanda Weir, have lent their time and support to the organization’s events.
Cancer is a dreaded disease. Our purpose is to give more families hope through new treatments and cures. We look forward to seeing you in 2017,” Butcher told Swimming World in an email.
