Stoychev, Nunez Morera Win Second Leg of 2007 FINA Open Water Grand Prix in Argentina

SANTA FE, Argentina, February 5. ON Sunday, Bulgaria's Petar Stoychev and Spain's Ester Nunez Morera won the second stop of the 2007 FINA Open Water Grand Prix held in Santa Fe, Argentina over a 57K course.

Stoychev, who finished third in the initial leg in Parana, won in 7:39:30 to capture his 33rd triumph in a FINA open water series event. Meanwhile, Argentina's Damian Blaum, the winner of the Parana leg, took second in 7:29:43, while Bulgarian Tihomir Ivanchev finished third among the men in 7:29:48.

In the women's meet, Nunez Morera won her first race of the series in a time of 7:53:55, while Argentina's Celeste Punet claimed second in 7:55:27. Erica Rose picked up third to round out the podium in 8:01:37.

The next stop in the nine-leg series will be in Naples, Italy on July 7 with swimmers completing a 36K course.
