Stephen Lucht Hands Verbal Commitment to Tennessee Vols

Stephen Lucht has verbally committed to the University of Tennessee. Lucht is from Raleigh, North Carolina where he swims for the Marlins of Raleigh and Sanderson High School.

While he has Winter Juniors cuts in the 200 butterfly and 400 IM, he is also a strong breaststroker. His best times are:

  • 100 Fly 50.95
  • 200 Fly 1:49.04
  • 200 IM 1:52.55
  • 400 IM 3:57.30
  • 100 Breast 59.79
  • 200 Breast 2:10.80

From 2015 to 2016 Lucht knocked over a second off his best 200 fly time and improved his 400 IM by a second and a half.

The Vols finished sixth at last year’s SEC Championships. Lucht will join a butterfly group led by Sam McHugh who will be a senior in the 2017-2018 season. McHugh is also at the top of Tennessee’s IM group.
