Stars Come Out to Play at Texas Senior Circuit Championships

AUSTIN, Texas, July 14. SOME of the United States' top talent exhibited their skills during the third day of long course meter swimming at the Texas Senior Circuit Championships held in Austin, Texas.

Some of the studs from Longhorn Swimming showed up as they claimed their pet events. Aaron Peirsol easily claimed the 200 back over David Cromwell, 1:55.46 to 2:00.67, while Ian Crocker, the world record holder in the event, clocked a 52.64 in the 100 fly. Additionally, Eric Shanteau took home the 100 breast in 1:02.50.

Other Longhorn winners on the men's side included Matt McGinnis in the 200 free (1:49.01), Agustin Magruder in the 400 IM (4:30.19) and Nick Thoman in the 50 back (25.86).

On the women's side of the meet, Longhorn's Tanica Jamison doubled up with wins in the 200 free (2:00.79 and 100 fly (1:01.11), while Spindrift Beck, 16, of the Dallas Mustangs won the 100 breast in 1:11.06.

Cammile Adams, 15, of Fleet claimed the 400 IM title in 4:55.64, while Julia Wilkinson of the Aggies won the 200 back in 2:18.18. Notably, Mary Beck, 15, of Longhorn clocked a 2:15.17 in the 200 back during prelims before electing to sit out finals.
