Stanford vs. Cal State-Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, California, February 5. NUMBER 2-ranked Stanford (5-1) cruised by host Cal State Bakersfield (4-2), 162.5-121.5 on Friday on the first leg of its trip through Southern California.

John Criste won the 200 breaststroke as one of 10 individuals to post winning times for the Cardinal. Criste, who was also a part of both leading 200 medley and 400 free relay teams, posted a time of 2:03.78 in the longer breaststroke.

Bobby Bollier was the first of four Cardinal to lead the 200 freestyle, posting a time of 1:40.91, ahead of Matthew Swanston, Michael Zoldos and Jake Allen.

The Cardinal also occupied three of the top four spots in the 100 freestyle and 400 individual medley, by that point an exhibition. Swanston's time of 46.21, bested teammate Trevor Scheid, while in the 400 IM, Matt Thompson's time of 4:01.75 was best amongst the eight swimmers.

The Cardinal take on No. 9-ranked USC on Saturday to close out their dual road season. The team's final dual meet is against top-five Cal on February 20.
