Sprinter Cassidy Burns Picks Gannon University

NEW COMMIT: Cassidy Burns has announced her verbal commitment to swim for Gannon University beginning in the fall. Burns is from Fairview, Pennsylvania and a senior at Fairview High School.

She shared,

“I choose Gannon University to excel in my swimming, academics and excellence. I am very excited to be a Knight!”

Burns’ best times include:

100 Fly: 58.28
100 Back: 59.15
50 Free: 24.08
100 Free: 54.19

Allison Ahl is also verbally committed to the Class of 2022. Ahl also swims freestyle and butterfly. The two should be good training partners as Ahl is just faster in the 100 free but Burns sets the pace in the 100 fly.

At last year’s PSAC Championships Burns would have been in the A final of the 50 freestyle with her best time. She would have been a 100 fly and 100 back B finalist. She also would have finished in the C final of the 100 free.
