Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am extremely grateful and so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at the University of Wisconsin-Madison! I’d like to thank all of my friends, family and coaches who have supported me along the way. Also a special thanks to the @badgerswimdive coaching staff for giving me this opportunity. Go Badgers!”

Zelen does her club swimming with South Metro Storm and most recently won the 50m free at Phoenix Sectionals after winning the 100 breast and 100 IM at Minnesota SCY Seniors. She competed at Juniors West in December and won the 100m breast at Minnesota LCM Seniors.
