Ingrid Wall has announced her verbal commitment to Harvard. She swims for New Trier Swim Club and New Trier High School in Illinois. She is a sprinter and great breaststroker. Wall is also USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.
Her best times are:
- 50 Breast 28.01
- 100 Breast 1:01.20
- 50 Back 25.64
- 100 Back 55.47
- 50 Free 22.96
- 200 IM 2:01.38
Wall holds 36 short course and 24 long course records at New Trier Swim Club. In 2015 she was selected to the NCSA Junior National team that competed at the Irish Open.
She told Swimming World,
“I chose Harvard because of the perfect balance of academics and athletics. I can’t wait to join the outstanding team and coaching staff. I look forward to living in the Boston area and contributing to the Harvard community. GO CRIMSON!!”
In a close meet, Harvard won the 2016 Ivy League Title. Wall will offer the team a huge boost. Her best 100 breaststroke time would have won the event by .01. The Crimson’s freshman Meagan Popp was second in the event last year (1:01.65). She was the team’s only finalist in the event. While the duo will battle for the medley relay spot. Wall brings some much needed depth to the event.
Wall could also be a 100 back and 50 freestyle A finalist and 200 IM B finalist at the Conference level. The Harvard coaching staff will certainly have some options to make use of Wall starting in the fall.
