SportsEngine Inc., an NBC Sports Group company and the leading youth sports technology provider, announced today a partnership between the United States Swim School Association (USSSA) and SportsEngine’s swim platform TeamUnify. The partnership will provide the USSSA with background screening and abuse prevention training options to provide to its affiliated member schools.

The USSSA was founded in 1988 to provide a trade association for those who operate swim schools in the United States. Joining forces will allow the US Swim School Association to grow and strengthen the background screening and abuse prevention training for hundreds of swim schools across the US.

Currently, the US Swim School Association has over 500 member schools in 43 states and 17 countries worldwide. Over the past 30 years, it has grown to become the largest swim school association in the country, and is recognized by affiliated schools, instructors, and parents alike as the preeminent swim school organization.

This partnership with US Swim School Association is part of SportsEngine’s ongoing commitment to youth sports safety. Through its partnership with the National Center for Safety Initiatives (NCSI) over 30 U.S. national governing bodies trust SportsEngine to provide FCRA-compliant background checks, secure data processing and storage, and powerful software to help them proactively protect their organization.

“Allowing swimmers, parents, and instructors to breath easy because they know they have safety and protection is one of our biggest priorities,” said Tim LaRoche VP, Sales and Business Development, TeamUnify. “TeamUnify and SportsEngine have actively worked to promote youth sports safety, and with thousands of swimmers using our platform, partnering with USSSA allows us to continue to further our mission of protecting athletes and providing safe sports experiences.”

“Our core purpose is to provide resources to assist our members in achieving their goals in the learn-to-swim business,” said USSSA Executive Director, Lisa Zarda. “A big part of this is to provide the tools to keep them safe while they grow in this sport. SportsEngine and TeamUnify are the leaders in the youth sports safety business, providing the top software in the background screening business, and we trust all of our members in their hands.”
