Speedo Western Canadian Championships: Day One

VICTORIA, Canada, February 15. LAST night, Karley Stutzel and Andres McIntyre walked away with distance titles at the Speedo Western Canadian Championships held in Victoria over short course.

Stutzel clocked a time of 16:20.78 in the women's 1500 free, which ranks among the top 10 in the world so far this year. Kathryn Rosberg picked up a distant second-place finish with a 17:05.03, while Dana Armstrong placed third in 17:05.78.

McIntyre, a 15-year-old representing Kokanee, surfaced from the men's 800 free with a winning time of 8:13.22. He defeated a pair of other youngsters as Karl Wolk, 16, finished second in 8:15.35 and James Kendrick, 16, took third in 8:20.42.
