The heat sheets have been released for tonight’s finals session at the USA Speedo Junior National Championships in Irvine, California.

HEAT SHEET: DAY 3 FINALS

The 400 freestyle opens the evening. The women’s race could be a battle between top-seeded Kensey McMahon from Bolles School in lane four (4:13.39) and Clovis Swim Club’s Claire Tuggle, who was right on McMahon’s heels in prelims at 4:13.45. She will be in lane five. There was quite a drop off in time between those two and the rest of the field.

In the men’s event, top-seeded Jake Magahey from SwimAtlanta is in lane four after his prelims swim of 3:54.13. It was more than a full second ahead of Saint Edwards swimmer Coleman Kramer (3:55.62), who has the second seed and will be in lane five.

The 100 butterfly follows, led by top-seeded Coleen Gillilan of Fort Collins, who took the top seed in the prelims at 59.40.

Brea Aquatics’ Justina Kozan will be in lane five alongside Gillilan after finishing in in 1:00.39. The men’s race will be a battle of Terrapins as Andrei Minakov (53.28) and Alexei Sancov (53.43) have the top two spots.
