NEW COMMIT: The University of Rochester has received a new commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Irvine, Calif. native Jeremy Mah.

He told Swimming World:

“I am extremely excited to announce my commitment to swim and study at the University of Rochester! I chose the UofR for its abundant research opportunities, competitive swim team, and beautiful campus. A huge thank you to everyone who has supported me through this journey.”

Mah, who does his club swimming with Socal Aquatics Association, last competed at Carlsbad Sectionals in February after racing four events at East LA Sectionals last December. In Summer 2019, he earned a best time at the FAST Junior Olympics where he placed 11th in the 200m IM.

His best times include:

  • 100 back – 53.85
  • 100 breast – 1:00.41
  • 200 IM – 1:58.35

Also competing for Northwood High School, Mah raced the 100 back and competed on the 4×50 medley relay at the CIF DI Section Championship during his sophomore season.

When he suits up for the Yellow Jackets as a member of the Class of 2025, Mah will add valuable depth in a number of different races. Under head coach Emily Wylam, Rochester finished seventh overall in the team standings at the 2020 University Athletic Association Championships.
