Singapore Long Course Nationals: Four Singapore Records Fall; Three By Joseph Schooling

SINGAPORE, June 28. A total of four Singapore national records fell during the Singapore Long Course Nationals this past week.

Joseph Schooling set three of the records with top times in the men's 100 fly, 200 fly and 200 IM. Schooling clocked a 54.19 in the 100 fly to break the 54.79 set by Nicholas Tan back in 2008, while also posting a 2:00.05 in the 200 fly. That performance smashed the 2:03.61 set by Tze Kang Ng back in 2008 as well. Schooling completed his record-breaking performances with a 2:05.07 in the 200 IM. He downed the 2:05.94 set by Gary Tan back in 2003.

Zhen Ren Teo shot down the other Singapore record with an 8:20.13 in the men's 800 free. That time beat Lionel Lee's 8:22.93 set back in 2005.
