After starting their dual meet season against rival Florida State, the Florida Gators face another test this weekend. Florida will face Texas and Indiana at Indiana on Friday and Saturday in a double dual meet that features some of the top teams from three major conferences.

Meet of the week: Florida vs. Texas and Indiana

This could be one of the best men’s dual meets of the season across the country. Florida is ranked No. 3 and will look to close some ground on No. 1 Texas. Meanwhile, Indiana is No. 8 and will look to prove it belongs in the national conversation after this stellar meet at home.

The women’s meet will be highly anticipated, too. Texas is No. 7 in the nation with Florida just two spots behind at No. 9. Indiana is not far off at No. 12.

The Gators will need their top swimmers to show up in top midseason form, building off their performance against Florida State.

In last week’s win against the Seminoles, Florida’s Caeleb Dressel led the Florida men with wins in the 100 backstroke (48.64) and 100 butterfly (47.32). Mitch D’Arrigo won the 200 freestyle at 1:38.93.

In the women’s meet, Florida’s Alyssa Yambor-Maul continued the performance she started back at the All-Florida Invitational, winning the 100 (55.10) and 200 fly (1:59.70) and 200 back (2:00.07) and gathering 27 points. She will be pivotal against Texas and Indiana.

North Carolina at Tennessee

The Tennessee Volunteers open their season with a two-day meet against North Carolina on Friday and Saturday at home. Senior Kira Toussaint will lead the Volunteers after returning from the Rio Olympics, where she represented the Netherlands, finishing 18th in the 100 backstroke.

Texas A&M at Incarnate Word

The Texas A&M Aggies will face Incarnate Word in San Antonio on Wednesday. The Aggies are ranked No. 8 in the women’s poll and the men are 25th. This should be a good tune-up meet to open the dual meet season for Texas A&M.
