Scottish Nationals: Rafael Munoz Cracks Top 20 in 100 Fly

GLASGOW, Scotland, July 3. THE Scottish Nationals came to a close with a top-20 time from Spain's Rafael Munoz. The meet took place in long course meters.

Munoz jumped to 18th in the world in the men's 100 fly with a winning time of 52.84. Andrew Mayor took second in 53.72, while Iain Macmillan finished third in 54.77.

Robbie Renwick captured the men's 200 free in 1:48.17, off his 12th-ranked season best of 1:47.46 from June. Robert Bale finished second in 1:50.16, while Josh Walsh touched third in 1:50.44.

Guilherme Guido snared the men's 50 back in 25.68, while Juan Miguel Rando took second in 25.85. Craig McNally finished third in 26.12. Lewis Smith posted a 4:20.42 to cruise to victory in the men's 400 IM. Taki Mrabet clocked a second-place 4:27.68, while Ross Muir touched third in 4:30.12.

Maria Fuster topped the women's 100 free in 55.76, while Jessica Sylvester finished second in 56.66. Georgina Heyn grabbed third in 57.07. Emma Bird snagged the women's 200 breast in 2:32.57, while Sarra Lajnef took second in 2:33.27. Kerry Buchan wound up third in 2:34.01.

Mercedes Peris hit the wall in 28.17 to win the women's50 fly. Lauren Averell (28.47) and Judit Ignacio (28.64) completed the podium. Claudia Dasca won the women's 1500 free in 16:25.49, while Megan Gilchrist finished second in 16:28.88. Aisha Thornton placed third in 16:41.35.
