Scottish Long Course Nationals: Fifth Day in the Books

GLASGOW, Scotland, June 26. THE fifth night of action at the Scottish Long Course Nationals came to a close in Glasgow.

Andrew Mayor claimed the men's 100 fly in 53.79, while Cameron Brodie placed second in 55.59. Iain Macmillan picked up third-place honors in 55.80. Georgina Heyn topped the women's 50 free in 26.05 with Sara Hamilton earning second in 26.24. Claire Dawson garnered third in 26.73.

Ross Clark snatched the men's 50 breast in 28.93, while Douglas Scott touched second in 29.06. Robert Holderness wound up third in 29.13. Hannah Miley pocketed the women's 200 back title in 2:13.75. Georgia Hohmann (2:14.91) and Aimee Wilmott (2:15.77) completed the top three.

"I'm pretty far from being rested right now, and this is a good preparation for Europeans and Commonwealth's," Miley told Swimming World. "I'm pretty happy with the way things are going right now."

Kerry Buchan won the women's 100 breast in 1:10.21, while Sara Lougher took second in 1:11.05. Kathryn Johnstone claimed third in 1:11.73. Ryan Bennett took home the men's 100 back title in 55.99. Craig McNally touched second in 57.36, while Joe Canlan Shaw finished third in 57.85.

Danielle Stirrat turned in a 4:17.64 to win the women's 400 free. Dawson posted her second podium of the night with a second-place 4:19.76, while Sarah Eaglesham wound up third in 4:23.38. Katie Avramova won the women's 50 back in 29.40. Emma Hunter (30.19) and Jennifer Oldham (30.25) placed second and third.

William Purnell claimed the men's 200 IM title in 2:03.43. Lewis Smith placed second in 2:05.05, while Ross Muir earned third in 2:07.13.

In semifinals, Craig Gibbons led the men's 50 free qualifying in 23.13 with Nathan Ford qualifying second in 23.26.
