SCAQ Swim Club Honors Coaching Duo for 30 Years

LOS ANGELES, California, October 27. SOUTHERN California Aquatic Masters Swim Club (SCAQ) wishes to announce the 30-year anniversary of coaches Clay Evans and Bonnie Adair's association with the Southern California swimming community.

In 1976, Evans and Adair began coaching Santa Monica Age Group team, and later teamed up to create an Adult Swim Club, SCAQ (Southern California Aquatic's Swim Club). Adair also is the head coach for Loyola Marymount's women's swim team, where Evans serves as her assistant and helps run a kids' lesson program.

More than 3,000 swimmers participate yearly in their programs. Adair and Evans have coached or instructed an estimated 20,000 LA area swimmers over the 30 years. They have also been coaches at UCLA, Santa Monica College and programs overseas. Under Evans and Adair's tutelage, SCAQ has broken more than 250 national records and more than 60 world records. Additionally, Evans was awarded the United States Masters Swimming Coach of the Year in 1992 and Adair in 1997.
