Sarah Sjostrom Earns Swedish Female Athlete of the Year Again

For the fourth consecutive year, Sarah Sjostrom was named the Swedish Female Athlete of the Year at the Swedish Sport Awards on Monday.

No other female has won the award more than twice since the award began in 2000. Soccer player Zlatan Ibrahimovic won the award four times as well, bot not consecutively.

Sjostrom, 25, posted on social media with the trophy, simply stating: “2017, 2018, 2019.”

The Olympic gold medalist had a strong 2018. She won four gold medals at the European Championships, winning the 50 free, 100 free, 50 fly and the 100 fly.
