GREENSBORO- Stanford’s Sarah Haase did not expect to win the 100 breaststroke tonight. In one of the closest heats of the meet thus far, Haase won the race by .06 with a 58.32. Haase attributes this year’s success to an exceptional breaststroke training group, a shift in her mentality and the Stanford training regimen.

She has never made it back in the 200 breast, but today’s swim bodes well for a 200 that scores tomorrow. Here Haase chats with Swimming World about her training tricks, technical changes and the shock and awe that came from her victory.
