Salnikov Cup Releases Stacked List of International Invitees Led By Euro Swimmers of the Year Katinka Hosszu, Daniel Gyurta

SAINT PETERSBURG, Russia, December 16. WHILE some of Europe’s best will be swimming for pride as part of the Duel in the Pool this weekend, most of the rest will be vying for some cash prizes as part of the Salnikov Cup being held in Russia Dec. 20-21.

European Swimmers of the Year Katinka Hosszu and Daniel Gyurta lead the way for the international contingent set to compete, with Hosszu potentially hitting the meet even harder than the European Short Course Championships based on information revealed by her husband and head coach Shane Tusup today.

There’s some other amazing talents from all around the world who are also on the international invite list including Australia’s Christian Sprenger, South Africa’s Cameron van der Burgh. Hungary’s Laszlo Cseh will also be in attendance, along with the likes of Pawel Korzeniowski, Ryan Cochrane, Sarah Sjostrom, Inge Dekker and Aleksandra Herasimenia.

Swimmers will be vying for $110,000 in Rubles for the best male and female swimmer. Also, the top three swimmers in each event will win 24,000; 18,000 and 12,000 for first, second and third, while Salnikov’s feature event in the men’s 1500 free will pick up 55,000; 25,000 and 20,000 for first, second and third.
