Ryan Lochte Joining ESPN “GameDay” on Saturday

GAINESVILLE, Florida, October 17. RYAN Lochte will be a major presence on television this week, first in a cameo on “30 Rock” on Thursday and then as a celebrity picker on ESPN's “College GameDay” on Saturday.

Lochte will sit with regular hosts Lee Corso, Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Desmond Howard in the pre-game show before the Florida Gators and the South Carolina Gamecocks begin play Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Eastern. Lochte, the most successful Florida alumnus in terms of Olympic hardware as well as the school's most successful collegiate swimmer, has Tweeted often about his love of Gator football, and is likely to hold his own against the ESPN commentators. In addition to obviously picking Florida to win Saturday's football game, Lochte will offer his picks on the winners of other college football games taking place that day.

Past celebrity pickers include musician Kenny Chesney, comedian Will Ferrell, actor Ty Burrell and professional skier Picabo Street. The celebrity picker typically has a connection with the school on the location of that week's GameDay.

According to the University of Florida, the Gators will be making their 35th appearance on “College GameDay,” the most of any team in the country. Ohio State ranks second with 30 appearances. Florida football last appeared on the show this season on Sept. 8 and Sept. 15 at away games against Texas A&M and Tennessee. Saturday's show will be the first time “College GameDay” has aired from Gainesville since 2009, according to the University of Florida.
