MELBOURNE, Australia, March 20. RUSSIA's duo of Anastasia Davydova and Anastasia Ermakova won duet technical routine gold in synchro competition at the FINA World Championships in Melbourne, Australia.

Duet Technical Routine Final
Russia won the duet technical routine final as Anastasia Davydova and Anastasia Ermakova tallied 98.833 points for gold. The Russian pair accumulated 49.333 points from execution and 49.5000 points from overall impression.

Spain's duo of Gemma Mengual Civil and Paola Tirados Sanchez took silver with 97.500 points (48.500 execution and 49.000 overall impression), while Japan's team of Saho Harada and Emiko Suzuki earned bronze with 97.167 points (48.667 execution and 48.500 overall impression).

The U.S. team of Christina Jones and Annabelle Orme took fifth with 95.167 points (47.500 execution and 47.667 overall impression).

Team Free Routine Prelims
Russia's contingent of Maria Gromova, Natalia Ischenko, Elvira Khasyanova, Olga Kuzhela, Anna Nasekina, Elena Ovtchinnikova, Svetlana Romashina and Anna Shorina posted the top prelim score of 99.000 points (matching 49.500s in technical merit and artistic impression).

Spain's team of Andrea Fuentes Fache, Tina Fuentes Fache, Thais Henriquez Torres, Gemma Mengual Civil, Gisela Moron Rovira, Iriina Rodriguez Alvarez, Paola Tirados Sanchez and Cristina Violan Espinosa took second with 98.333 points (49.000 technical merit and 49.333 artistic impression).

Japan's squad of Saho Harada, Naoko Kawashima, Hiromi Koboyashi, Erika Komura, Takako Konishi, Ayako Matsumura, Emiko Suzuki and Masako Tachibana took third with 97.167 points (48.500 technical merit and 48.667 artistic impression).
