Ruby Martin was one of the most successful members of the young squad of Americans at the Irish Open, winning three events at the meet. Martin won the 200 fly, 400 free and 400 IM in fine fashion, though she said in this video interview that she was surprised about winning the 400 free because she hadn’t done well in the event in a long time. Having Ireland’s Grainne Murphy pushing her helped Martin get her U.S. Olympic Trials qualifying time in the event and give her confidence for the next year when she returns home to work on her IM and butterfly.
